Imagine living in a world that becomes more about a grid of pictures than what’s actually in front of you.
Social media shows such a small percentage of what life really looks like — and when it comes to fitness, it shows even less.
A body that’s ripped and lean all year round isn’t everyone’s reality. Most people are simply trying to balance work, relationships, stress, family, confidence, health, and looking after themselves the best they can.
A lot of the time, you can’t win when it comes to women and aesthetics.
I promote being strong. A body that’s capable. Having an identity away from just what you look like, and valuing what your body can do.
I promote building muscle, not demonising food. Living a life with fitness in it — not making fitness your whole life.
In a world that’s quick to turn everything into a trend, a performance, or something elitist, I’m here to say this:
You don’t have to compete in HYROX or run a marathon for your goals to matter. You don’t have to constantly prove yourself.
You’re allowed to be a normal person who trains consistently, does the basics well, and moves their body because it supports their health, confidence, and life.
That is enough. And it always was.
Learning to love yourself — including the parts you see as flaws — is part of being human. Don’t lose yourself believing everyone else has it all figured out, or that they don’t have insecurities too.
Live life.
Do strength training to support a long, happy, independent one.
And as a bonus — it builds a stronger, more capable body, better posture, a lifted shape… and yes, a peachy bum too.
But the real goal is function.
A body that carries you well through life is the win.
Aging is a privilege. Don’t lose sight of that.
