We’ve got this!
Ladies, we absolutely have got this. One of my biggest passions is women’s weight training. It’s about removing the fears of getting big and bulky, and overcoming the obstacles and nerves that come with using a gym.
The benefits that my clients and members experience are enormous. There’s no judgment here, just a safe space for you to be yourself, no matter what level you’re at.
There is absolutely room for women to be strong and passionate about building muscle, whether it’s getting a juicy bum or toned biceps. Speaking of toning, let’s address the misconception. Toning is not some magical solution. It’s simply weight training, gaining more muscle and losing fat. That’s what toning really is.
Let’s not beat around the bush here. The gym and fitness industry profit massively from keeping things unclear. Doing endless crunches or kickbacks won’t get you where you want to be, and anyone who tells you otherwise is not being honest.
So, what’s the answer? Compound movements! Think heavy lunges, deadlifts, and bicep curls. Yes, I said heavy. It’s all about building confidence and maintaining proper form. Our goal with all clients is for them to move as efficiently as possible while challenging themselves with a significant amount of weight. That’s what leads to the desired changes in your physique.
And let’s not forget about squats. There are so many variations, whether you’re using a rack or not. Maybe you can’t do squats in a traditional rack, either physically or due to confidence. That’s where we start with goblet squats, dumbbell squats, box squats, and air squats. Everyone has to start somewhere, and we provide an environment that caters to all levels.
In our studio, we purposely have limited machines. We want people to move and train in different planes of movement. We encourage them to use equipment that they may have never tried before, all because they feel comfortable and happy in our space.
