We hear it all the time: “I’ve fallen off the wagon.”
But here’s the truth — there is no wagon.
Life happens. Schedules change. Kids get sick. Work gets busy. Holidays come around. And sometimes, we simply need a break. None of that means you’ve failed, and none of it means you’re starting from scratch.
I didn’t train for over two and a half weeks recently.
I even packed my kit for holiday… did I use it?
Nope.
Do I feel bad about it?
Also nope.
When I got back and trained again, was I sore as hell for two days?
Absolutely.
But after that? Completely fine. Back to normal. Body remembered. Mind remembered. Strength returned. Nothing fell apart.
This is why I always say:
Stop thinking you’re failing. You’re not.
When life gets busy, stop getting in your head and throwing the towel in. This is for your health — for your wellbeing — and it genuinely makes us better human beings.
The fitness industry has conditioned people to believe that missing a few sessions means “starting over.” But the psychology behind fitness — your mindset, your expectations, your relationship with movement — matters more than any perfect streak of workouts.
And that’s a huge part of what I work on with my clients. Yes, I help build peachy bums and strong bodies. But I also help people unlearn the guilt, pressure, and all-or-nothing thinking that holds them back.
Because consistency isn’t about perfection.
It’s about showing up again — without beating yourself up for the days you couldn’t.
There’s no wagon.
There’s just you, doing your best, and getting back to it when life allows.
And that’s enough.
